God has planned a major expansion of the ISI work across the state of Connecticut.  The goal is nothing less than reaching out to every single international student in the state with the love of our Lord Jesus Christ! 

God’s plan includes starting up between eight and twelve new networks of churches to begin outreach to the schools in their areas.  What’s in store?

God is doing an amazing thing!  God is releasing a powerful new period of growth to “Reach the World from Connecticut.”  We invite you to be a part of it. 

There is no God like our God.  He plans to extend the ISI work all the way across Connecticut now!. 

Enough of small thinking!  It’s time to reach out for the goal in faith in an all powerful God!  So in answer to God’s call we have begun the groundwork for one of the most exciting missions events in Connecticut history. 

            In three to five years we expect God to start up new ministry networks for all the major college and university clusters in Connecticut!  The target is nothing less than all 10,000 international students and scholars in the state.  This will come only by God’s grace and power, and only for His glory!  This is hands on foreign missions work done from your own home.  You can be part of this historic work.  Check it out the links above:  the vision, the task, the plan, and the pilot update!  Together we can …
Reaching the World from Connecticut!

Expansion:

After over 20 years of working at UConn, Storrs, the Lord has given us a new assignment—expanding the ISI ministry across the state of Connecticut!  Be sure to check out the links above on this page to see the vision, the task, the plan, and the pilot update for the work.  We are excited about the opportunities the Lord has given us to reach international students here in Connecticut, and we invite you to be part of it. 

UConn:

You can find much detail on the work at UConn, Storrs.  [Link to the UConn Ministry page].  Steve and Deb Lamont, Jon and Ruth Alumbaugh, June Miller and other key leaders continue the work in Storrs now, even as God continues to build the team and ministry.  The volunteer team and student leaders are committed to the Lord’s greater plan, as well.

The Pilot:

Check out the stuff God is doing in the Groton-New London-Norwich Area.  [Link to the Pilot Update].  We have seven members on a multichurch leadership committee.  We've got good contact with four of our five target campuses.  We'll have some start-up ministry this fall!  God is so cool!

Your Part:

We hope you will sense the move of the Holy Spirit in the work we highlight in this site, and that you will delight to participate with us in "Reaching the World from Connecticut!"  If you sense the Lord's call on your life, there is a place for you in ISI ministry. 

You may have the gifts and skills to work mostly with the students, maybe you work with food or you like to drive a truck to help.  You may have administrative/leadership skills for directing various ministry programs or even a city-wide or area-wide ministry.  You may fit in as full-time or part-time staff, Min.Rep., key volunteer or in any number of volunteer opportunities requiring lesser time commitments.  Talk to us!

There are a large variety of direct giving project opportunities you can investigate and in which you can have a part—including matching grant giving for the pilot ministry area.  God is at work here; come and join Him with us.
