The Pearce Family
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at UCLA, Andy taught math and coached at a prep school in his hometown of Carpinteria, CA. Then he worked in Lubbock and Dallas, TX as a sales representative for Scott Foresman school textbook company. In 1996, he and his wife signed up for an international student friendship program. As they grew in their involvement, they were called to full-time work with International Students, Inc. Los Angeles in August of 2000. In his role as Los Angeles County Director, Andy mobilizes and trains volunteers to share Christ’s love with international students through one-one-one friendships, Bible studies, and activities. He also recruits, trains, and supervises a team that now includes 15 staff members and interns. Andy and his wife have three daughters and one son who were all adopted in China. He has done graduate work in Education at UC Santa Barbara and Christian Studies at Truth Theological Seminary and Regent College.
