===========================
Our long-time ISI alumni friend, Mr. Godfrey Kasozi, director of CETRUD training center in Uganda www.CETRUD.org ... see Santa Cruz Sentinel article on him June 28 http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/ci_12707163?source=email ...
... is finishing his annual visit to Santa Cruz (travel paid for by another Santa Cruz friend) His special requests this trip are for help purchasing a badly needed computer for his center (asked for $200 help from ISI) and to buy soccer balls for the children of his area.
He says that every Sunday about 2,000 people in his area villages gather together to watch their children play soccer, and they don't have much balls, uniforms, cleats, etc.
So Thursday July 9, my helper Yizenia and I exhaustively researched costs of purchasing or having donated such soccer equipment, and costs of shipping it separately vs. Godfrey taking it on his flight.
4 a.m. Saturday, July 10, Yizenia and I drove Godfrey to SFO for his flight back home to Uganda. We are pleased to have sent with him a new computer (from Best Buy) and a duffle bag full of new soccer balls and supplies, generously discounted by Rogue Soccer Shop.
If you would like your donation to be tax deductible, you can donate through my ISI main account #5466 and it will be added to my salary (from which I'm paying) Most of the expenses will not be reimbursed to me as ministry expenses, since the costs far exceed the amount I can claim as ministry expense.
If, however, you would like to donate directly to me in cash or check, that would be gladly accepted (but not tax deductible)
Here are the expenses:
* $200 to help pay for computer (purchased for approx.$600 from Best Buy)
* $200 excess luggage fee for flight (he's checked 6 bags, 50lbs max. weight, with seeds, and supplies for his center) * $32.84 one Mammoth size duffle bag from Outdoor World Santa Cruz * $407.14: new Soccer supplies, generously discounted by Rogue Soccer Shop, Santa Cruz-- --21 practice soccer balls of various colors & sizes 3,4,5 for both younger and older kids ($13 each instead of $20) -- 2 longer-lasting High quality soccer balls for competition matches ($32 instead of $40) --2 sets of 10-pinney-soccer uniforms ($32 instead of $100) --2 sturdy quality air pumps to inflate the balls ($9 each instead of $11).
DONATED free by Rogue Soccer Shop, Santa Cruz: --4 extra needles for the pumps --2 small soccer clipboards --1 practice soccer ball --1 whistle
DONATED free by one of the Santa Cruz City youth girls soccer teams: --one set of used soccer uniforms --a few used soccer cleats.
THANK YOU for your prayers and support! Godfrey will post photos on www.cetrud.org after he returns to Kasese, Uganda July 14
