Transportation & Temporary Home-stay

Welcome!

International Students, Inc. (ISI) welcomes you to Bloomington/Normal by offering you transportation and a temporary home-stay.

What is the transportation and temporary home-stay program?

The program consists of transportation and a home-stay with an American individual or family when you first arrive in Bloomington/Normal. The home-stay includes up to 3 nights, meals with the host family, and orientation to the community. For those who request transportation only, the program includes transportation to your apartment or to a local motel that you select.

How much does this cost?

This service is FREE. However, please understand that long-term housing arrangements are your responsibility.

Why are we doing this?

  1. Our desire is to make your first impression of the United States and the Bloomington/Normal community a positive one. We have sons who have traveled in Europe, Africa, Indonesia, and Australia. They experienced many gracious, friendly individuals who helped welcome them and even care for them during emergencies.
  2. We also serve as staff with ISI, which is a national Christian service organization made up of culturally sensitive American friends who are eager for cultural exchange. International students of all religions and beliefs are welcome to participate.
