We warmly welcome YOU to ISI Monterey! Friendship. Connections. Adventure. Discovery. Growth! That is what International Students, Inc. (ISI) Monterey is all about.
ISI Monterey is part of a global network of cross-cultural Christians, dedicated to creating friendships with international college, university and graduate students who come to study in the U.S. Locally, our desire is to build and foster lasting friendships with international students studying in Monterey. We wish to help students adjust to and enjoy American life so that they might receive a well-rounded picture of this country and its people. It is our full intent to accept and appreciate people from all walks of life, all cultures, and all religious beliefs. In a land where freedom of expression is appreciated, we look forward to learning about other people's cultures as we share aspects of our own.
We understand that coming to a foreign country can be exciting, but we also know moving here can bring many challenges and stresses as well. We hope that we can help make the initial transition as easy as possible, make your time here enjoyable, and encourage lasting friendships along the way.

ISI is for YOU Our goal is to help international students feel comfortable and accepted - to make your time in Monterey the best it can be. As a new arrival, you may need help with airport/bus pick-up (in Monterey), temporary housing, assistance in your housing search and in getting basic household items. During the school year, we offer many opportunities to break up the intensive times of study – from discussion groups that will help improve your English and special seasonal events to adventures in many of the beautiful places in the area.
One of the most exciting ways we do this is to link interested international students with Americans who will invite them into their homes to share meals and exchange conversation. As wonderful friendships emerge, this time can provide great opportunities for students to share about their families, cultures, cares and needs, as they take breaks from their studies and learn more of the American lifestyle. For a fast visual of some of the things we do, check out pictures from the 2007-08 school year at www.isimonterey.smugmug.com. Please enjoy!
