What Do Christians Believe?  

Here is a summary of the the bible's message:

• God made the universe, and made mankind to rule over the earth under His loving rule.
• People everywhere have rejected this arrangement and have rebelled against God our creator. We want to rule our lives and run the world our own way, yet we have failed to do so adequately.
• God is righteous, and He will not let this continue. He will judge this rebellion. The result of that judgment is death, which is seperation from God and all that is good. This, in essense, is Hell.
• However, because of his love for us, he sent Jesus his son into the world so that we do not have to suffer the consequences of our rebellion.
• Jesus always lived under God's rule. Yet by dying in our place, He took the punishment we deserve for our rebellion. In doing this, He bought forgiveness for us.
• God raised Jesus to life again as ruler of the world. Jesus conqured death, and now gives new life. He will return to judge the world.
• We can continue to reject Jesus, and thereby face the punishment for our rebellion that we so rightly deserve  OR we can let Jesus run our lives and receive from him forgiveness and a new start in our relationship with God, with the promise of eternal life with God in Heaven when we die or Jesus comes again.
