Bio - Dan Lim
Born and raised in Kedah, Malaysia, Dan went to Ontario, Canada for 7 months before heading to Hull, UK to study engineering at the university there. It was there that he first got involved with a local Chinese church. During his post graduate program, Dan was called to widen his scope and work with students from all nations as part of the international ministry of St John’s Church, Newland.
After serving there for about 4 years, he married Jessica and moved to Los Angeles the following year. Once there, Dan and Jessica started attending Lighthouse Community Church, where he soon discovered ISI and found that ISI’s work and vision was almost identical to what he had developed in the UK, but on a much larger scale.
Now, as an ISI staff intern, Dan works to mobilize, train and encourage local churches and college students to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with international students. He also works with international students directly, organizing meeting point events, outings, meals and activities with the intent of developing genuine friendships with international students where the love and grace of God may be shown.
Dan has attended the Cornhill North Training Course that was run by Proclamation Trust (now known as the Northern Training Course) in the UK, and continues to study part time at Talbot School of Theology for an MDiv in Missions and Cross Cultural Ministry. He speaks English, Mandarin, Northern Malaysian Hokkien and Malay. Dan lives in Gardena, CA, with his wife, Jessica.
