16 Ways you can help international students in San Francisco

1)  Conversation Partner – Attend "ISI Table Talk/Game Night" 7-8:30pm every Thursday.

 

2)   Friendship Partner – gets together or "touches base" once a week for a semester.

 

3)   Professional Mentor – mentor a student who is studying in your field of expertise.

 

4)  Driving Students - to yard sales for their dorm room set up or grocery store.

 

5)  Drive Students - to participate in Homestay weekends for example: the Sierra's in February or Yosemite in June.

 

6)    Airport Pick-up – greet a newly arriving students.

 

7)    Host a Holiday Party – invite a few students into your home and demonstrate how American’s celebrate a holiday.

 

8)    Food Provider – prepares or purchases food for one of ISI many events.

 

9)  Prayer Team – receive regular email prayer updates for student needs in San Francisco.

 

10)  Church Team Leader – recruits a team of volunteer friendship partners in your church to help welcome students to the US.

 

11)  Financial Team Member - Give so this ministry can mobilizes volunteers. Give online

 

12)  ESL Teacher – teach English to one or several international students.

 

13) Long-term Homestay – rent a room short term in your home

 

14) Temporary Homestay – host for a few days a newly arriving student or a student traveling through San Francisco who is associated with ISI national ministries.

 

15)  Campus Director – lead ministry at a specific campus such as SFSU, USF, Art College or City College.  Coordinating services offered to students.

 

16) Church Team Trainer - Train and equip Church Team Leaders.
