Every person that becomes a Friendship Partner is required to go through a three and a half hour training to prepare them for working with international students.
In addition, each Friendship Partner is required to go through an application process so that we can try to find the best people possible to work with these students. We try to find people, who love to build relationships; want to learn about the world; those who are hospitable; and who are loving people who will show Christ’s unconditional love to these students.
In the training I cover cross-cultural friendship and hospitality, cross-cultural sensitivity, motivation for international student ministry, sharing our lives together with these international students, and some of the important do’s and don’ts to be effective Friendship Partners.
I love teaching this training and helping prepare these Friendship Partners to be loving ambassadors.
